hMPro™ Human Mesenchymal Progenitor Cells provide a reliable and unlimited source of human mesenchymal progenitor cells utilizing ArunA’s proprietary platform technology.

Phenotyping:  Cells are >80% CD90, CD105, CD166 and CD73 positive and <5% Oct4 positive.

DNA fingerprint:  Results are consistent with the presence of a single cell line with no evidence of culture cross contamination. The loci match the DNA fingerprint pattern for the H9 (NIH designation, WA09) hESC line as published in http://stemcells.nih.gov/research/nihresearch/scunit/.

Pathogen testing:  This lot was derived from the H9 hESC line that has been tested for Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, HIV-1, HIV-2, HTLV-I/II, HSV1, HSV2, EBV, and CMV.  The H9 cell line has been tested and shown to be negative (performed by GIVF Laboratories). Mesenchymal cells are also tested for sterility and mycoplasma contamination.

ArunA has entered into a technology licensing agreement with the University of Georgia Research Foundation (UGARF) that enables the company to commercialize certain products and allows for exclusive worldwide rights to development and commercialization of these technologies.

ArunA has also entered into a research and commercialization license with the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF) for nonexclusive rights to their embryonic stem cell patents in research applications.

hMPro™ cells (labeled hES-MC) subjected to osteogenic culture conditions and von Kossa staining   hMPro™  cells (labeled hES-MC) subjected to chondrogenic culture conditions and Alcian blue staining  hMPro™  cells (labeled hES-MC) subjected to adipogenic culture conditions and Oil Red-O staining. 

 

   hMPro™ osteogenic differentiation is enhanced when cultured in MSC medium. hMPro™ cells were cultured in EGM2-MV (Lonza) derivation medium or a typical MSC medium (αMEM). hMPro™ cells from both culture conditions and BM-MSC (bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells) were subject to an osteogenic differentiation protocol (top row).  For negative controls, both cell types were cultured in normal growth media. von Kossa staining shows that cells previously cultured in typical MSC medium are more osteogenic.
